Enjoy our Baked Spaghetti Casserole, a comforting and flavorful dish featuring layers of spaghetti, rich meat sauce, and melted cheese. This easy-to-make casserole is perfect for family dinners, combining classic Italian flavors in a baked format.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In the prepared baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce. Layer half of the cooked spaghetti over the sauce.
  • Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the spaghetti, followed by half of the remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat layers with the remaining spaghetti, ricotta cheese, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
  • This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
