Ingredients
4 black tea bags
4 cups water
1 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Ice cubes
Extra cherries and mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine cherries, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Simmer for 10 minutes until cherries break down.
Use a fine mesh sieve to strain the cherry syrup. Discard solids.
Steep tea bags in 3 cups of boiling water for 5 minutes, then remove tea bags.
Combine cherry syrup, brewed tea, and vanilla extract in a pitcher.
Chill in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Serve over ice, garnished with extra cherries and mint if desired.
Notes
You can substitute honey or agave for sugar.
