Description

Experience the delightful fusion of East meets West with this Chinese Lasagna, layered with savory soy-infused beef, vegetables, and soft noodles, all topped with a delectable hoisin bechamel sauce.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground pork
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cups béchamel sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or a mix of mozzarella and mild cheddar)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Noodles: Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large skillet, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned. Add onions, garlic, bell pepper, carrot, and mushrooms. Cook until vegetables are tender. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Cook for an additional 5 minutes and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Hoisin Béchamel: Mix the béchamel sauce with the hoisin sauce in a bowl.
  4. Layer the Lasagna: In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat mixture. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the meat. Spread another layer of meat mixture, followed by a layer of hoisin béchamel, and then sprinkle with cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
  5. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the lasagna for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
