Ingredients
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and sour cream until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness and cut into shapes.
- Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are just lightly golden.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: Frost and decorate as desired.
