Description

Green Bean Stuffing Casserole is a flavorful holiday side dish combining the richness of green beans with savory stuffing and a creamy sauce. This recipe is perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas, offering a comforting blend of tender vegetables and herb-infused stuffing topped with a crispy, golden finish.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked green beans (fresh, frozen, or canned)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 box (6 oz) herb-seasoned stuffing mix
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth.
  • Fold in the cooked green beans and half of the crispy fried onions.
  • In a separate bowl, prepare the stuffing mix by combining with chicken broth and butter. Stir until moistened.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and layer the green bean mixture evenly in the bottom.
  • Top with the prepared stuffing.
  • Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until the stuffing is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top, and bake for another 5-10 minutes until crispy.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth.
  • You can add shredded cheese to the stuffing for an extra rich flavor.
