Description

This Grilled Cheese Patty Melts recipe brings together the best of both worlds—juicy beef patties and classic grilled cheese. Featuring crispy, golden bread, melted cheese, and a perfectly seasoned beef patty, it's a hearty and flavorful sandwich that's easy to make and perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner. Customize with caramelized onions or extra toppings for even more flavor.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Onion (sliced)
  • Butter
  • Rye or sourdough bread
  • Cheddar cheese (sliced)
  • Swiss cheese (optional)
  • Olive oil (for sautéing)
  • Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  • Form ground beef into patties, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add a little olive oil and cook the beef patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add butter and sauté sliced onions until caramelized. Remove from heat.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice.
  • Place a slice of cheese on the unbuttered side, add a beef patty, and top with caramelized onions and another slice of cheese.
  • Place another slice of bread on top, buttered side out.
  • Cook the sandwich in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Serve hot with your favorite condiments.

Notes

  • Add Worcestershire sauce to the beef for extra flavor.
  • You can mix and match cheeses like cheddar, Swiss, or American to suit your taste.
