Description

This Dutch Oven Baked Ziti recipe offers a comforting, hearty dish with rich tomato sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted cheese. Perfect for family dinners, this one-pot meal is both delicious and easy to prepare.

 


Ingredients

  • Ziti pasta
  • Ground beef
  • Onion, chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Marinara sauce
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Fresh basil, chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cooked ziti pasta, ricotta cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella. Mix until well combined.
  6. Top with remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with lid or aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove cover and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh basil if desired. Serve hot.

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
