Ingredients
- Ziti pasta
- Ground beef
- Onion, chopped
- Garlic, minced
- Marinara sauce
- Ricotta cheese
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Parmesan cheese, grated
- Italian seasoning
- Salt
- Pepper
- Fresh basil, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until onion is translucent.
- Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in cooked ziti pasta, ricotta cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella. Mix until well combined.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with lid or aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove cover and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil if desired. Serve hot.
