Ingredients
- 12 ounces white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles
- Red and blue food coloring
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over low heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Place the white chocolate chips in a medium bowl. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for a few minutes to soften the chocolate.
- Stir the mixture until smooth and well combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix again.
- Divide the chocolate mixture into three bowls. Leave one as is, and mix red food coloring into the second bowl and blue food coloring into the third bowl to achieve desired colors.
- Cover each bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until the mixture is firm.
- Once chilled, use a teaspoon to scoop out portions of the truffle mixture. Roll each portion into a ball with your hands.
- Roll each truffle in red, white, or blue sprinkles to coat completely.
- Place the truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
- For an extra touch of flavor, mix a little raspberry or blueberry extract into the respective colored mixtures.
- If the truffle mixture becomes too soft while shaping, refrigerate for an additional 10-15 minutes before continuing.
