Description
Tried the 5 Ingredient Italian Meatloaf and wow, it was a breeze to make! My partner, usually not a meatloaf fan, asked for seconds. A new family favorite!
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of ground beef and ground pork)
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, and 1/2 cup of the marinara sauce. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
- Form the Meatloaf: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or loaf pan. Shape it into a loaf with your hands.
- Add Sauce on Top: Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of marinara sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-55 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F or 70°C).
- Rest and Serve: Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute. Serve with additional marinara sauce if desired.
