Description

A moist and flavorful banana bread recipe preppy kitchen that makes the perfect snack or breakfast, using overripe bananas


Ingredients

  1. 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 to 1 1/2 cups)
  2. 1/3 cup melted butter
  3. 3/4 cup sugar
  4. 1 large egg, beaten
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  7. Pinch of salt
  8. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the melted butter and mashed bananas.
  3. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  5. Gently fold in the flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For a nuttier version, you can add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans.
  • Chocolate chips can also be added for a sweeter touch.
