Description

Ingredients

  1. 2 lbs cooked brisket, shredded or finely chopped
  2. 12 lasagna noodles, cooked according to package instructions
  3. 3 cups bechamel sauce (white sauce)
  4. 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
  5. 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  6. 1 cup ricotta cheese
  7. 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  8. 2 cups marinara sauce or tomato sauce (can mix with some brisket juices for added flavor)
  9. Salt and pepper to taste
  10. Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, and chopped basil. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the shredded brisket with the marinara sauce.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the brisket mixture at the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the brisket.
  6. Spread a portion of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  7. Add another layer of the brisket mixture on top of the ricotta.
  8. Drizzle with some bechamel sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  9. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of brisket, bechamel, and mozzarella on top.
  10. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top layer.
  11. Drizzle with olive oil and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  12. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  13. Remove foil and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  14. Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
