Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground mustard
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, milk, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, salt, pepper, and ground mustard until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a lightly greased loaf pan or baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the glaze is caramelized.
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  • Add minced garlic or herbs like thyme and parsley to the meat mixture for added flavor.
  • For a firmer texture, add an additional egg or a bit more breadcrumbs.
