Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook elbow macaroni according to package directions and drain.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, and beef broth. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add cooked macaroni to the beef mixture and toss to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
