Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 tub (16 oz) whipped topping or buttercream frosting
  • 1 tsp almond extract (optional)
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  • Prepare cake mix according to package instructions, adding almond extract if desired.
  • Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with the cake batter.
  • Drop 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling into the center of each cupcake.
