Description
Chicken Cordon Bleu is an elegant yet surprisingly straightforward dish. It features chicken breasts stuffed with ham and cheese, wrapped in a crispy breadcrumb coating. Perfect for a special dinner or a tasty weekend meal.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Flatten chicken breasts to 1/4 inch thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place a slice of cheese and a slice of ham on each breast. Roll up tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Dredge each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then roll in breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown chicken on all sides.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear.
Notes
- Serve with a light cream sauce or a squeeze of lemon for extra flavor.
- Ensure toothpicks are removed before serving.
