Ingredients

  1. 6 cups cubed bread (preferably day-old)
  2. 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  3. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  4. 8 large eggs
  5. 2 cups milk
  6. 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  8. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  9. 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the bread cubes evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. Sprinkle the cooked sausage over the bread, followed by the shredded cheese.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, sausage, and cheese in the dish.
  6. Gently press down with a fork to ensure the bread is soaked.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until set and golden on top.
