Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice


Instructions

  • In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  • Slowly whisk in seafood stock, white wine, and tomato paste until smooth.
  • Add heavy cream, milk, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in shrimp and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Gently fold in crab meat and lemon juice. Simmer for 2 more minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
