Ingredients
- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 packet (1 oz) Italian dressing mix
- 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 jar (16 oz) pepperoncini peppers, with juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 8 hoagie rolls
- Provolone cheese slices (optional)
Instructions
- Place beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Sprinkle Italian dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the roast.
- Pour in beef broth and the juice from the pepperoncini peppers. Add minced garlic, sliced onion, and green bell pepper to the crockpot.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
- Remove the beef from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef to the crockpot and mix with the juices.
- Serve the beef on hoagie rolls, topping with provolone cheese if desired. Optionally, include some pepperoncini peppers for added flavor.
Notes
- For extra heat, add red pepper flakes or more pepperoncini peppers.
- Toast the hoagie rolls before adding the beef for a crispy texture.
