This Crockpot Italian Beef Sandwich recipe features tender, slow-cooked beef infused with Italian spices, perfect for hearty and flavorful sandwiches. Easy to prepare and delicious, it’s a crowd-pleaser for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Italian dressing mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 jar (16 oz) pepperoncini peppers, with juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 8 hoagie rolls
  • Provolone cheese slices (optional)


Instructions

  • Place beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle Italian dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the roast.
  • Pour in beef broth and the juice from the pepperoncini peppers. Add minced garlic, sliced onion, and green bell pepper to the crockpot.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  • Remove the beef from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef to the crockpot and mix with the juices.
  • Serve the beef on hoagie rolls, topping with provolone cheese if desired. Optionally, include some pepperoncini peppers for added flavor.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add red pepper flakes or more pepperoncini peppers.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls before adding the beef for a crispy texture.
