Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  • In another bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add beef slices and cook until browned.
  • Pour the teriyaki sauce over the beef and stir.
  • Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve over rice or noodles.

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
