Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread a layer of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with meat sauce and a topping of mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving.

- For added flavor, mix some Italian seasoning into the meat sauce.
- You can prepare the lasagna ahead and refrigerate it until ready to bake.
