Description

This Easy Meatloaf is a hearty, comforting classic that never fails to please. It's packed with flavor, tender and juicy, and comes with a delicious glaze that makes it irresistible. Perfect for a family dinner or when you're craving something satisfying.

Ingredients

  • For the Meatloaf:

    • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
    • 1 cup bread crumbs
    • 1 onion, finely chopped
    • 1 egg
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
    • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • For the Glaze:

    • 1/2 cup ketchup
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the Meatloaf Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley. If using, mix in the Parmesan cheese.
    • Mix everything together until well combined but avoid over-mixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
  3. Shape the Meatloaf:

    • Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Prepare the Glaze:

    • In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
    • Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf before baking.
  5. Bake:

    • Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 1 hour.
    • After 30 minutes of baking, spread the remaining glaze over the meatloaf and continue baking.
  6. Rest and Serve:

    • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes after taking it out of the oven before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meatloaf, making it moist and flavorful.
    • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add finely chopped bell peppers or celery to the meat mixture for added texture and flavor.
  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version of this classic dish.
