Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup French onion soup mix
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or Gruyere cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: caramelized onions and fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, French onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until just combined—avoid overmixing.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Top with shredded cheese and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with caramelized onions and parsley, if desired.
