Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup French onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or Gruyere cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: caramelized onions and fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, French onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until just combined—avoid overmixing.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  5. Top with shredded cheese and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with caramelized onions and parsley, if desired.
