Description

This garlic butter shrimp scampi recipe is a quick and flavorful dish featuring succulent shrimp sautéed in a rich, buttery garlic sauce with zesty lemon and white wine. Perfectly served over pasta or with crusty bread, this easy seafood dinner is ready in just minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz linguine or pasta of choice
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • Remove shrimp and set aside. Pour in white wine and lemon juice, scraping up browned bits.
  • Simmer for 2 minutes, then add remaining butter and return shrimp to skillet.
  • Stir in parsley, toss with pasta, and serve with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen shrimp, but thaw before cooking.
  • Substitute white wine with chicken broth for a non-alcoholic version.
  • Best served immediately but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
