Ingredients

  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, rice vinegar, and ground ginger.
  • Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  • Sear chicken thighs, skin-side down, for 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown. Flip and sear the other side for 2 minutes.
  • Pour the soy sauce mixture over the chicken thighs. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
