Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 bag (30 oz) frozen hashbrowns, thawed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or any other favorite seasonings

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until softened. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  • In a large bowl, combine the hashbrowns, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, and 1 cup of shredded cheese. Mix well.
  • In a greased casserole dish, layer the ground beef mixture evenly.
  • Spread the hashbrown mixture on top of the beef.
  • Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the casserole.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
