Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef with diced onions until browned; drain excess fat. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Grease a casserole dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  4. Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Pour half of the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer, then sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup, and cheese.
  7. Drizzle melted butter over the top layer. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.
