Elevate your BBQ dishes with this rich, Homemade BBQ Sauce. Ideal for brisket, it combines sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors for the ultimate sauce.
Ingredients
¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ cup ketchup (preferably Heinz)
1 cup BBQ sauce (suggestions: Original Recipe KC Masterpiece or Original Blue’s Hog)
¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients over medium heat.
Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a simmer.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool.
Once cooled, transfer the sauce to a jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
For a smoother sauce, blend the mixture with an immersion blender before cooling.
