Ingredients

For the Ganache & Toppings:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate cookies
  • ¼ cup chocolate syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  • Stir in boiling water slowly until batter is smooth.
  • Divide batter between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Let cakes cool completely before assembling.
  • For ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering, then pour over chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  • Place one cake layer on a plate, spread ganache, and add the second layer.
  • Pour remaining ganache over the top and let it drip down the sides.
  • Sprinkle with chocolate chips, crushed cookies, and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
  • Chill for 30 minutes before serving.
