Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 refrigerated pie crust (or homemade)
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, mix in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Roll out pie crust and fit into a pie dish. Add meat filling evenly.
- Brush edges of the crust with beaten egg, then fold overhanging dough inward. Brush top with remaining egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
