Ingredients
- 1 kg ground beef
- 1/2 kg ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for topping)
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the milk and breadcrumbs. Allow them to soak for 5 minutes.
- Mix in the ground beef, ground pork, Parmesan cheese, beaten eggs, onion, garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, basil, and parsley.
- Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish or on a lined baking tray.
- Top the meatloaf with additional marinara sauce.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
- Once baked, remove from the oven, let it rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with extra marinara sauce if desired.
