  • 1 kg ground beef
  • 1/2 kg ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the milk and breadcrumbs. Allow them to soak for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix in the ground beef, ground pork, Parmesan cheese, beaten eggs, onion, garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, basil, and parsley.
  4. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish or on a lined baking tray.
  5. Top the meatloaf with additional marinara sauce.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
