Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  • Stir in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked egg noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a combination of beef and pork for the meatballs.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
