Ingredients

  • 3 cups Mountain Dew
  • 1 package (1.75 oz) powdered fruit pectin
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • In a large pot, combine Mountain Dew and lemon juice.
  • Gradually stir in the powdered pectin.
  • Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
  • Add the sugar all at once, stirring continuously.
  • Return to a full rolling boil and boil for exactly 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and skim off any foam with a metal spoon.
  • Carefully ladle the hot jelly into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  • Wipe the rims of the jars with a clean, damp cloth and seal with lids.
  • Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
  • Remove jars and let cool completely at room temperature.

Notes

  • Ensure the jars are properly sterilized to prevent contamination.
  • For a more intense flavor, reduce the Mountain Dew to 2 cups by boiling it down before starting the recipe.
  • Store in a cool, dark place for up to 1 year. Refrigerate after opening.
