This recipe is ideal for dinner parties or a luxurious weeknight treat, combining the savory taste of bacon with the creamy texture of Gouda.

Ingredients

  • 4 thick-cut pork chops
  • 4 oz smoked Gouda cheese, sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Using a sharp knife, cut a pocket into each pork chop without cutting all the way through.
  • Stuff each pork chop with smoked Gouda slices and crumbled bacon.
  • Secure the openings with toothpicks.
  • Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, and rosemary.
  • Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Add chicken broth to the skillet and transfer to the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and the cheese is melted.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the pork chops are thick enough to hold the stuffing without falling apart.
  • You can substitute smoked Gouda with cheddar or mozzarella for a different flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
