This quick and easy chili recipe is made on the stovetop in just 30 minutes. Packed with ground beef, beans, tomatoes, and bold spices, it's the perfect comfort food for a busy weeknight or game day. A simple, flavorful chili that everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat the beef.
  • Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  • Add kidney beans and black beans. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15-20 minutes to let the flavors blend.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot with toppings like cheese, sour cream, or cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier chili, increase the cayenne pepper or add diced jalapeños.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and taste even better the next day.
