Description
Savor the delightful flavors of marinated grilled recipe chicken on a stick, reminiscent of street fairs and summer barbecues. Simple to make yet incredibly delicious!
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or sesame oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Juice of 1 lemon or lime
- Optional: red pepper flakes or chili sauce for some heat
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, lemon or lime juice, and red pepper flakes or chili sauce (if using). Mix well. Add the chicken chunks, ensuring each piece is well-coated with the marinade. Cover and let it marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
- Skewer the Chicken: Preheat grill or broiler to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated chicken chunks onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Grill: Place the chicken skewers on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is fully cooked and has a nice char on the outside.
- Serve: Remove from grill and serve hot. They can be served with a side of dipping sauce if desired.
Notes
- Chicken on a stick pairs well with peanut sauce, sweet chili sauce, or even a simple mixture of soy sauce and lime.
