Description

This Sheet Pan Oven Grilled Cheese recipe is the ultimate hassle-free way to make multiple grilled cheese sandwiches at once. With buttery, golden bread and gooey melted cheese, it’s perfect for family meals or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of sandwich bread
  • 8 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, American, or provolone)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place 4 slices of bread, buttered side down, on the sheet pan. Top each slice with 2 slices of cheese.
  • Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
  • Cover the sandwiches with another sheet of parchment paper and place a second sheet pan on top to press the sandwiches flat.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the top sheet pan and parchment paper. Flip the sandwiches carefully.
  • Bake for an additional 5–7 minutes or until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the oven, slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use any type of cheese or bread for variety, such as sourdough or multigrain.
  • For a crispy finish, sprinkle a little grated Parmesan on the buttered side of the bread before baking.
  • Add extras like tomato slices, bacon, or ham for a gourmet twist.
