Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread, cubed
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
- Maple syrup for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread half of the cubed French bread evenly in the dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sliced strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Mix gently.
- Spread the berry and cream cheese mixture over the bread layer in the baking dish.
- Top with the remaining bread cubes, ensuring an even layer.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and berries. Press down gently to ensure the bread absorbs the liquid.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the plastic wrap and bake the casserole for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
