Ingredients
- 1 large Italian sub roll or ciabatta bread
- 4 slices salami
- 4 slices pepperoni
- 4 slices ham or capicola
- 4 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 4 slices tomato
- 2 tbsp red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp banana peppers (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise or Dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the sub roll or ciabatta bread lengthwise and lay it open on a baking sheet.
- Layer the salami, pepperoni, ham, and cheese on the bottom half of the bread.
- Place the sandwich in the oven and toast for 6-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
- Meanwhile, toss shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and banana peppers with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl.
- Remove the sandwich from the oven and add the prepared veggie mixture on top of the melted cheese.
- Spread mayonnaise or mustard on the top half of the bread (if using), close the sandwich, slice in half, and serve warm.
