Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and tomato paste, then simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with chopped parsley.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of turkey sauce, followed by a layer of lasagna noodles.
- Spoon the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, mix in Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes to the turkey sauce.
- Substitute whole wheat lasagna noodles for a healthier option.
- The lasagna can be assembled ahead and refrigerated or frozen before baking.
