Description

This White Cheese Chicken Lasagna is a luxurious twist on classic lasagna. Layered with tender chicken, creamy white sauce, and a blend of cheeses, it's a gourmet meal that's perfect for impressing guests or treating your family to a special dinner.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken breast
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until tender.
    • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk, and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  3. Cheese Mixture:

    • In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, and black pepper.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna:

    • Spread a small amount of the sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of the shredded chicken, 1/3 of the spinach (if using), and 1/3 of the mozzarella. Repeat layering two more times.
  5. Top Layer:

    • Finish with the remaining sauce and sprinkle with 1 cup of Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake:

    • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  7. Serve:

    • Let stand 10 minutes before serving to allow the lasagna to set

  • For a richer flavor, you can substitute some of the milk with heavy cream.
