Description
Just made the 4-ingredient Quick Cornbread. Couldn't believe something so simple could taste this good. It was a hit at our family dinner. Will definitely make again!
Ingredients
- 1 cup self-rising cornmeal mix
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or a cast-iron skillet.
- Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising cornmeal mix, sour cream, milk, and egg. Stir the ingredients together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Pour the Batter: Transfer the cornbread batter into the greased baking dish or skillet, spreading it evenly.
- Bake the Cornbread: Place the dish or skillet in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Serve: Let the cornbread cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite accompaniments.
