Description

This Beef Stroganoff with ground beef recipe is a savory and creamy dish perfect for a quick weeknight meal. Featuring tender ground beef, mushrooms, and a rich, creamy sauce, this recipe is both comforting and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms are tender.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually stir in the beef broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat and stir in the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the sauce is thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve over egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • Add a splash of white wine for extra flavor.
