Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.
  • Add ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper to the skillet, mixing well.
  • Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese and diced pickles.
  • Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Add 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto the center of the wrapper.
  • Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll tightly to form an egg roll. Seal edges with water.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with dipping sauces of choice.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, bake the egg rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway.
  • Use different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for varied flavors.
