Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten

- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Set up a breading station: Place flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third dish.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally coat in the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to adhere.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
