Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls, toasted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell pepper, cooking for 5-7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced chicken. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and return the cooked onions and peppers to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
  • Divide the chicken mixture into 4 portions in the skillet. Top each portion with a slice of provolone cheese and let it melt.
  • Spoon the chicken, peppers, and onions into the toasted hoagie rolls. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute mozzarella or American cheese for provolone, depending on your preference.
  • Add mushrooms or jalapeños for extra flavor and texture.
