Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 can (15 oz) Hunt's Tomato Sauce, divided
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup Hunt's Ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, 1/2 can of Hunt's Tomato Sauce, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining Hunt's Tomato Sauce, Hunt's Ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to create the topping sauce.
- Pour and spread the sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating diced green bell peppers or minced garlic into the meatloaf mixture.
