Ingredients
- 1 package (25 ounces) frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the ravioli.
- Add the remaining ravioli in a single layer.
- Top with the remaining meat sauce.
- Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef and add sautéed spinach or mushrooms.
- This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated. Bake it when ready to serve.
