Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to form a slurry.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, stirring well. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, coat the chicken in cornstarch before frying.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
