Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to form a slurry.
  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken, stirring well. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, coat the chicken in cornstarch before frying.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
