Ingredients
- 3 lbs beef brisket
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup BBQ sauce, plus extra for serving
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 sandwich buns
- Coleslaw (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Place sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Rub the brisket with smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Place the brisket on top of the onions and garlic in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together BBQ sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Pour the mixture over the brisket.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded.
- Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded brisket to the slow cooker and mix with the juices.
- Serve the brisket on sandwich buns, topped with extra BBQ sauce and coleslaw if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the BBQ mixture.
- Serve with pickles and potato chips for a complete meal.
