Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- Topping:
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Mix the topping sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
